Smithfield's Troy Gunnell was one of eight participants to correctly pick 10 of 12 games correctly in Week 1 of the Deseret News Prep Grid Picks contest. Gunnell, however, won the contest on the tiebreaker by coming closest to the final score in the Mountain Crest-Highland blowout.
Gunnell wins $50 and a Grid Picks T-shirt for taking first place. Six runners-up out of the 498 total entries also win a Grid Picks T-shirt. They are: Janice Dickson, Vernal; Gordon Weight, West Jordan; Casey Wiseman, Layton; James Walles, Sandy; Dalton Parker, West Valley City; Rob Udarbe.
