The negative, extreme right-wing rhetoric going on in this country is scary. Those involved are not trying to improve our country but only to pull down the other political party with hate, mud slinging, half-truths and out-and-out lies. At a time when we should be pulling together for the betterment of our nation, there is far too much hatred and name-calling going on. We should be able to look objectively at the issues and disagree where necessary, but do so in a civilized manner.

We have a president who is trying to do what he thinks is best for us. We may disagree with him, but we should not resort to rock throwing. Once in our nation, we let the forces of anger and divisiveness get out of control, and we fought a horrible Civil War.

Let's not go that route again.
