A Salt Lake City man was charged Wednesday with raping a 13-year-old girl, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court.

Ciro Rodriguez-Flores, 21, was charged with one count of rape of a child, a first-degree felony.

Detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department investigated reports of inappropriate sexual contact between Rodriguez-Flores and the victim on Aug. 24.

In an interview with police, Rodriguez-Flores admitted to having a sexual relationship with the child, the charges said.

If convicted, he faces a minimum imprisonment of five years.
