To prevent human excrement from raining down on hikers, Angels Landing Trail in Zion National Park will be temporarily closed.

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, between 6 a.m. and noon, the National Park Service will remove barrels of human waste from composite toilets at camp sites at Scout Lookout. The closures will be from Grotto Trailhead in Zion Canyon to an area just west of Scout Lookout, according to a release from the park service. Big Bend Scenic Viewpoint along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive will also be closed during the same time period for helicopter operations.

For more information on this trail closure call 435-772-7610 or visit www.nps.gov/zion.
