CLEARFIELD — Police are searching for two men involved in a shooting in Clearfield early Saturday morning that left one man injured.

Police responded to the area of 800 East and 2200 South to find the semiconscious man lying on his back on the driveway of his home. The man had been shot in the back, according to a news release from Clearfield police. The man was able to tell officers he was waylaid by two men, but a motive for the shooting is still unknown.

The man was flown by medical helicopter to a local hospital. A news release did not report the extent of the man's injuries, and police were not immediately available for comment.

The two men fled on foot, but a police search using a K-9 unit did not provide any leads, according to the release. Detectives are hoping to gain more information once the victim is more coherent.
