CEDAR CITY — The Cedar City Regional Airport has reopened after a three-week runway resurfacing maintenance project.

Cedar City public works director Rick Holman says about a half-inch of asphalt was removed from the runway and replaced with a new 3-inch layer. The project has been on the city's capital facilities plan for a few years.

The project cost about $3 million. Holman says stimulus funds paid for the work.

SkyWest spokeswoman Marissa Snow said the airline resumed its Delta Connection service between Salt Lake City and Cedar City on Thursday.
