Animal adoption fair announced

Cafe Rio and the Uinta Brewing Company are teaming up with the Utah Animal Adoption Center to put on the Furry Fiesta Fair and Fundraiser on Saturday.

Pets will be available for adoption. Vendors with wares such as pet jewelry and natural treats will also be at the event, as will the rock band The Disgusting Brothers. Admittance is $30.

The UAAC rescues healthy animals from shelters that would have euthanized them. It also works to educate the community about rescuing and spaying or neutering pets, said adoption center spokeswoman JoAnn Ortega.

The fair and fundraiser is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the center, 1955 Redwood Road.
