Wanton slaughter

Every August we hear talk about the necessity of using nuclear bombs on nonmilitary targets Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There is always an equal and opposite reaction to those opposing this event. The jingoist tells us millions of lives were saved. Others, including Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, opposed the politics behind the nuking and deemed the carnage unnecessary.

The wanton slaughter of innocent women, children, babies and the elderly should never had happened. Steps should be taken so it never happens again.
