Golden eagle doing well after crash

PARK CITY (AP) — A golden eagle is in the midst of a remarkable recovery after flying into a semitrailer's windshield in Summit County.

Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden says the semi driver saw the bird fly from the side of I-80 on Tuesday before it crashed through the window and landed on his lap.

Roden says the driver and another person used a blanket to capture the injured bird, which was turned over to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.

Wildlife resources officials say the bird is doing well at a rehabilitation center in Ogden, especially considering what it went through.
