SANDY — Police who were called to what they thought was a shooting in Sandy early Friday arrived to find two men who had been stabbed and a slew of partygoers eager to leave the scene.
The call came in just after midnight, reporting shots fired at a home at 9095 S. 400 East, said Sandy Police Sgt. Troy Arnold.
He said police arrived and quickly realized that there had been a large gathering at the home, which had evolved into a fight in the front yard. Once police arrived, those who had been at the party fled the scene.
Police found one stabbing victim immediately, then located a second victim a few houses down the street, Arnold said. Police also found multiple bullet shell casings but didn't find any weapon or anyone who had been shot.
The two victims, both described as Hispanic males, were transported to an area hospital, one in fair condition and one in serious condition. Arnold said it is expected both will survive.
He said police have little information, as those they were speaking with at the scene were largely uncooperative. The victims have yet to provide any information on who may have assaulted them, he said.
