SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A publicist for American snowboarder Kevin Pearce says he remains in critical but stable condition Saturday at a Salt Lake City hospital after a training accident.

Danielle Burch says Pearce is surrounded by family and friends at University Hospital, and a Facebook page devoted to him will be updated when any new developments occur.

Pearce was knocked unconscious when he hit his head during a training run Thursday in Park City.

The 22-year-old from Norwich, Vt., is a top-ranked halfpipe rider who had a good chance of making the U.S. Olympic team.
