ONTARIO, Calif. — Utah Grizzlies defenseman Vic Bartley had one goal and two assists in a losing effort as the American Conference battled from behind to beat the National Conference 10-9 in a shootout Wednesday night in the 18th annual ECHL All-star game.
Bartley, a rookie, also had several near misses in the sudden-death overtime as he stole the show in the final minute in his bid for a four-point evening.
The 21-year-old's performance also sets the mark for the most points in an all-star game for Utah since the Grizzlies joined the ECHL in 2005.
AJ Perry assisted the National Conference's second goal in the first period to tie the contest at two.
Ryan Kinasewich, who entered the All-Star Break with a league-leading 25 goals, was held off of the scoreboard in the contest despite getting four shots on net.
The Grizzlies return to the E Center to open a six-game homestand on Friday at 7 p.m. when they welcome in Ontario.
