Applications for the 31st annual St. George Art Festival are available online at www.sgcity.org/artfestival or by calling the festival office at 435-624-4500.

To be juried for the festival, applicants must complete the application form, submit a $20 nonrefundable fee for each category applied for, submit five 35mm slides or digital format of works created within the past two years, and a self-addressed stamped envelope if slides are sent.

Applications must be delivered to the St. George Arts Center by 5 p.m. on Jan. 15. Approximately 110 artists will be selected. Send applications to St. George Art Festival, 86 S. Main, St. George, UT 84770.

The Alliance for the Varied Arts in Logan is calling for kids artwork for the upcoming Art O Rama. Artwork from children ages 5-11 will be accepted Jan. 19 and 20. For more information, call AVA at 435-753-2970.

The Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Ave., Ogden, is announcing a call for entries for its 12th Black & White Statewide Juried Competition.

The competition is open to all artists who currently reside in Utah. Original works in any medium are eligible, but only works in black, white and/or shades of gray will be accepted.

Artists are limited to two entries; there is a fee of $7 per entry. The works will be accepted Jan. 22, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and Jan. 23, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at the center.

The Bountiful/Davis Art Center, 745 S. Main, Bountiful, is looking for professional illustrators to participate in the Illustrators Utah Exhibit in January, 2010.

This year the exhibit will be a juried competition with entry fees and cash awards. All work, whether published or not, should be in one of the following categories: editorial, book, advertising, institutional, comic/sequential and uncommissioned.

Artwork will be accepted Jan. 4-8, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the center. The cost is $10 per entry with up to three entries allowed per artist.

Art in Transit announces the availability of public art commissions on the North Temple TRAX line. There will be five commissions awarded at $90,000 each.
