SARATOGA SPRINGS — A small earthquake shook northern Utah County early Tuesday but caused little or no damage.
The epicenter of the 2.9 magnitude earthquake was about three miles north of Saratoga Springs and four miles southwest of Lehi. The temblor occurred at 1:08 a.m., according to the University of Utah seismology stations.
"This was a small event," said Relu Burlacu, a seismologist at the U. "A little bit of shaking but no damage inflicted."
He said the effects were localized to within about 15 miles.
Officials in Saratoga Springs, Lehi and Eagle Mountain, as well as the Utah County Sheriff's Office, said they had received no reports of damage.
