Daniel Beck loves to sing about love — a very specific kind
of love.
His debut album, "Love Like That," (produced by
Kenneth Cope) is centered around learning to give love, being changed by love,
and feeling the love of God.
Beck said, "We set out to create an album that would
communicate love on the truest level. Everyone needs love. So many are starving
for the lack of it. It's that true, redeeming love that makes a person better.
The love that is unconditional, pure, exalting, eternal."

The title track, "Love Like That" summarizes the
album's theme and the message Beck wants to share with the world.
"The power in your touch
It gently lifts me up
Then brings me to my knees
How do you love like that?
How do you give so selflessly?
Your faith in me just seems to come so easily
It amazes me how it changes me
How do you love like that?"
(Lyrics from "Love Like That," written by Tyler
Castleton and Staci Peters)
For Beck, this song has more than one meaning. "'Love
Like That' perfectly describes the love of the woman I married," Beck
said. "She knows me better than anyone on this earth and unfortunately
that includes knowing things about me that aren't so great. Yet she loves me
anyway. She never holds anything over my head and she loves me for who I really
am — and that is a gift. She loves me much the same way God loves me."
Beck's powerful voice — often compared to Josh Groban's —
conveys this message of love to the world. Beck's voice has also been admired
in "Liken the Scriptures" films and several local musicals. He has
lent his talents to the EFY 2007 and 2008 CDs, as well as the upcoming EFY 2010
CD. Beck is grateful for all these opportunities and loves to perform, but he
says, "The biggest thrills have come in some emails I've received from
people saying that the music we produced has opened their hearts to the love of
the Savior."

The strength of divine love has blessed Beck with the
ability to see others more like God sees them. "God's love has helped me
to know that I have something in common with all people, a Father in Heaven who
created me, who loves me, who sees me for who I really am. That helps me strive
to see others for who they really are and automatically increases my capacity
to love them, communicate with them, and empathize with them ... I've made
mistakes, oh so many of them, yet as I continue to try to feel God's love, He
grants me sweet little experiences ... despite my faults, weaknesses, and
shortcomings, that remind me of His love for me. We're all worthy of His love.
God is not an ogre or a stern disciplinarian — we punish ourselves enough. We
are all fallen, and yet we are still of infinite worth to Him."
As he shares his message of unconditional love with the
world, a message it so desperately needs, hearts are touched and opened. Beck's
music reminds listeners of the power of love and how important it is to give,
receive, and feel it each day.
Beck will perform at the Rose Wagner Theatre (along with
Jessie Funk) in the Valentine Variety Show on February 5th and 6th in Salt Lake
City. For more information, visit www.danielbeckmusic.com.
