LOGAN — Utah State's Brady Jardine was honored by NetScouts Basketball on Wednesday when he was named their Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Jardine was also named the WAC Player of the Week by the league office Monday.
Jardine, a 6-7, 220-pound junior forward from Twin Falls, Idaho, led Utah State to a pair of home wins last week against Utah (79-62) and Northeastern (56-54). Against the Utes, he posted his second career double-double with a career-high 20 points to go along with a career-high 13 rebounds in a career-high 31 minutes. Jardine was 6-of-7 from the field and 8-of-10 at the free-throw line in the game. Against the Huskies, Jardine posted another double-double with 15 points and a career-high tying 13 boards. He also tied his career-high with three blocks and played a career-high 34 minutes in the game.
For the week, Jardine averaged 17.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks, while shooting 64.7 percent from the field (11-of-17) and 72.2 percent at the free throw line (13-of-18). Jardine currently ranks first in the WAC in both rebounding (10.4) and blocked shots (1.80), and is eighth in field goal shooting (.526). He is currently averaging 11.0 points per game.
