EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Vikings running back Adrian Peterson says his sprained right ankle is feeling better, and he hopes to play against Buffalo on Sunday.

Peterson did not practice again Thursday, but the plan is for him to participate Friday and test the ankle he hurt last week at Washington.

Peterson has not missed a game since his rookie year in 2007, when a torn lateral collateral ligament in his right knee kept him out for two weeks. He says he's proud of the streak, given the position he plays, but says he'll try to be smart about how hard to push his ankle this week.

Despite a down year for the Vikings, Peterson has had his usual productive season. He has also done a better job of holding onto the football, going without a fumble so far.
