Geary Jim Williams 1937 ~ 2010

Geary Jim Williams passed away peacefully on December 27, 2010 Born on October 11, 1937 Jim had a passion for his family, hunting, fishing and the family cabin. As an active member of the LDS Church, Jim served faithfully in many capacities but the most important to him was being a diligent home teacher where he could serve others quietly behind the scene and away from the spot light. Jim married Vicki Hamlin 53 years ago on November 22, 1957. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Jim and Vicki were blessed with four children: Michelle (deceased), Jay (Susan); Ron (Dayna); Blake (Julie). Jim and Vicki were also blessed with 10 grandchildren along with four great grandchildren. Jim was a born salesman spending most of his professional career with Douglas Models but his true passion was ignited when he retired from Douglas and became the director of development for United Cerebral Palsy of Utah. His major responsibly was fund raising at which he was a master. Preceded in death by one daughter (Michelle), one grandchild (Noah), parents Thomas Rees and Margaret Williams, two brothers and one sister (Neil and Jay Williams and Afton Jones) The family wishes to express thanks to the Willow Wood care center and staff for the years of loving service they gave to Jim. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Friday, December 31, 2010 at LDS Valley View 9th Ward Chapel, 4101 South 1925 East. A viewing will be Thursday evening, December 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
