LOGAN — A federal mediator is in Utah to lead discussions about a labor dispute between the Logan City School District and its employees.
District officials began meeting with the Las Vegas-based mediator on Monday.
The Herald Journal of Logan reports that the Logan Education Association and district officials reached an impasse in September regarding pay increases.
Teachers in the district are currently working without a contract.
The district had to cut about $1.5 million from its budget, and because of that some pay increases based on employment longevity are threatened.
