MILWAUKEE — Freshman Vander Blue scored 21 points, leading Marquette to an 86-50 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday night.
The Golden Eagles' runaway victory was marred by the loss of senior forward Joseph Fulce, who sustained what appeared to be a significant left knee injury with just over 13 minutes left in the game.
Fulce, who missed time earlier in the season with a knee injury, was down on the court in pain for several minutes before being helped off.
Blue got off to a hot start, scoring nine of the Golden Eagles' first 14 points.
Jimmy Butler and Jae Crowder had 15 points each for the Golden Eagles (7-2), who took a 25-4 lead to start the game.
Demond Watt had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Islanders (3-6).
