SALT LAKE CITY — Delta Air Lines announced Thursday that it will increase nonstop flights between Salt Lake City International Airport and the North Dakota city of Fargo beginning this summer. It will also add flights to Bismarck and Minot.
Delta already offers flights between Salt Lake City and Fargo. It will add an additional daily flight.
Delta does not fly now between Salt Lake City and Bismarck or Minot. The service will be operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines, based in St. George, using 50-seat CRJ-200 jets or 70-seat CRJ-700 jets. The jets feature two-by-two seating with no middle seats.Delta anticipates more North Dakota residents traveling to Salt Lake City than Utah residents traveling to the North Dakota cities. From Salt Lake City, Delta has about 300 flights, including to Tokyo and Paris.
"North Dakotans will benefit greatly from Delta's new westbound connections to the Salt Lake City hub, making it faster and more convenient to travel from their hometowns to points across the Mountain West, West Coast, Alaska and Hawaii," said Bob Cortelyou, senior vice president at Delta. "With Delta's expanded westbound schedule, business travelers in Bismarck, Fargo and Minot will now have the choice of doing business in cities across the West Coast and returning home the same day."
