NPR host Scott Simon to speak for Salt Lake City library group's anniversary

SALT LAKE CITY — National Public Radio's Scott Simon will speak at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at the Salt Lake City Main Library as part of the 50th anniversary of the Friends of the City Library.

For five decades, the organization has supported the Salt Lake City Main Library through donations, volunteer hours, public service programs and public awareness initiatives.

To celebrate these accomplishments, Simon, the Peabody Award-winning host of NPR's "Weekend Edition Saturday," will present a lecture in the auditorium of the library, 210 E. 400 South.

Additional anniversary events will take place Saturday, March 6.
