Farr West man faces new abuse charge

FARR WEST, Weber County — Another alleged sexual-abuse victim of a Farr West man has come forward, bringing the total victim count to four.

Cody Clyde Campbell, 37, originally was booked into the Weber County Jail Tuesday for investigation of three counts of forcible sex abuse on a female relative and two of her friends.

The alleged abuse came to light when one of the girls disclosed it to her parents, said Weber County Sheriff's Capt. Klint Anderson. The parents brought their daughter to the sheriff's office, and she led investigators to the two other girls the man is accused of abusing.

The girls are between the ages of 14 and 15, Anderson said, and they told police that the man had started abusing them in October.

After state and local media coverage of Campbell's arrest, another victim came forward with her parents to authorities. This new case is under investigation, Anderson said.

Campbell has been cooperative with investigators, Anderson said. He posted $30,000 bail and has been released from jail. No formal charges have been filed in the case.
