SLCC women suffer rare home-court defeat

SALT LAKE CITY — The sixth-ranked Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team fell to Southern Idaho 55-53.

The Bruins are now 19-5 overall and 11-4 in SWAC play.

In the first half, both teams struggled to shoot the ball well. SLCC shot 37 percent in taking a six-point lead into the second half. However, turnovers plagued the Bruins, as they committed 26 turnovers resulting in 23 Idaho points.

Alli Blake led Salt Lake with 14 points, and Sheila Adams added 10.

SLCC looks to rebound from the home loss as it faces North Idaho College today at 3 p.m. in Bruin Arena.
