Priorities misplaced

I was just perusing the job listings in my local community and found some pretty shocking discrepancies in our priorities. I can get a part-time job at the Juvenile Detention Center working with troubled youths for $10 an hour. If I go down the street to work part time caring for stray dogs and cats at the animal shelter, they'll pay me $11 per hour.

It appears we place more value on our stray dogs and cats than on our troubled children.
