Is sculpture needed?

What recession? Utah County is flush with money. Don't believe it if it tells you otherwise. It recently awarded a $25,000 grant to Eagle Mountain to commission a sculpture to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Pony Express. We must really need a statue. Do our representatives not understand that budgets are tight and being fiscally conservative might be a good thing?

Apparently not.

Is anyone ever going to say "no" when dollars are scarce?
