LAS VEGAS — With a 13-0 run to start the second half, the Utah women's basketball team defeated UNLV, 51-35. Kalee Whipple led Utah with her sixth double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Halie Sawyer had her third double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
After a slow start, Utah battled back to tie the game at 17-17 by halftime. Whipple, who is from Hiko, Nev., had seven points and five rebounds by halftime.
Utah's strong run to start the second half paced the Utes the remainder of the way. UNLV did not make a field goal in the half until 5:40 left. The Rebels made a strong push at the end to cut the lead to 10 points with 1:58 left, but Utah powered back to score eight of the final 10 points of the contest for the 51-35 victory.
FRESNO STATE 69, UTAH STATE 63: At Logan, down by 21 points in the first half, Utah State rallied to tie the score at 58-all with four and a half minutes left, but couldn't take the lead, getting edged by conference-leader Fresno State.
Junior guard Amber White netted a career-high 27 points, draining a career-high three 3-pointers for the Aggies (12-13, 4-8). The Bulldogs (21-5, 12-0) won their fifth-straight over Utah State.
White was the only USU player in double-figures, but juniors LaCale Pringle-Buchanan and Alice Coddington posted nine points each
