Haiti relief event set for Friday

OGDEN — Mojos Caffe and Gallery will host two comedy and music events to aid Doctors Without Borders in an effort to provide medical care for Haitian earthquake victims.

The all-ages venue, located at 2210 Washington Blvd., will host the first of its "Comedy With a Cause" shows at 7 p.m. Friday. Comedians from the Proposition Four Comedy Group and local bands Icarus and Pretty as a Train Wreck will perform.

A portion of ticket proceeds will go to Doctors Without Borders, as will all of the proceeds from an auction and raffle during the event.

A second event will be held March 5.

Both are part of the Utah Haitian Benefit Concert Series, a group of four concerts organized to benefit Doctors Without Borders' efforts. SLUG Magazine, in partnership with the series, will raise funds for Haiti during its 21st anniversary celebration at the Urban Lounge Feb. 19. The Woodshed in Salt Lake City will host a benefit concert on Feb. 18. Tolchock Trio will be the headlining band. Others are to be announced.
