Man nabbed in Spanish Fork robberies after witness spots license plate

SPANISH FORK — A Spanish Fork resident helped police track down a man who they say broke into several homes and vehicles early Thursday.

The resident heard a noise around 4 a.m., went outside and managed to catch the alleged thief's license plate as he drove away.

Police went to the man's home and arrested him after a search of his Jeep turned up stolen goods. Spanish Fork Police Lt. Steve Adams said the 20-year-old man later showed officers most of the locations where he broke into garages and vehicles and stole electronic equipment, golf clubs and other items.

Adams said police believe the man and an accomplice committed other burglaries Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Anyone with information can contact police at 801-804-4700.
