Utah Jazz to donate money to fight diabetes

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz will donate a portion of new ticket sales for the game against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday to the American Diabetes Association.

When fans buy four lower bowl seats and four hot dogs for $35 per ticket, the Jazz will donate $5 from each ticket to fund diabetes research, education and advocacy. As the nation's fastest-growing disease, diabetes affects 23.6 million Americans, including 171,200 Utahns, and 57 million Americans have "pre-diabetes." Complications include heart disease and stroke, kidney disease, blindness, nerve damage, and foot and leg amputations.
