Boy injured when car runs over him
ALPINE — A 10-year-old boy was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in serious condition after being run over by a car Friday, police said.
The boy was riding on the trunk of a car and fell off when a 16-year-old driver put the car in reverse, said Sgt. Dave Boerner of the Alpine/Highland Police Department. The car ran over the boy while it was moving in reverse.
The boy was taken to American Fork Hospital before being flown to Primary Children's Medical Center.
Boerner said the victim knew the driver, but police are still unsure of their relationship.
The accident is under investigation.
