Cache Valley Transit eyes new facility

LOGAN, Utah — The Cache Valley Transit District is negotiating to buy land for new administrative and maintenance facility.

CVTD general manager Todd Beutler says he's looking at buying a parcel in North Logan to replace its headquarters in Logan.

The bus agency is applying for federal funding to make the switch. Before it receives any money, it must obtain an appraisal of the 17-acre parcel it wants to buy in a North Logan manufacturing district.

Beutler says the agency can't pay more than the appraised price for the land. The parcel has yet to be valued.

Beutler says it could take years to secure the federal funding for the long-term plan.
