4 emergency responders injured at accident in Nephi Saturday

NEPHI — Four emergency personnel were injured Saturday night when a second car crashed into an accident site.

The driver of the first car lost control on icy I-15 near Nephi around 8:15 p.m. and rolled onto the driver's side of the car. Emergency medical personnel and fire crews responded to the scene and began to extricate the driver when a second car lost control and crashed into the first one, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

A firefighter received serious arm and head injuries and was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. Three other emergency personnel were transported for minor injuries to Central Valley Medical Center in Nephi.
