SALT LAKE CITY — EnergySolutions Inc. on Wednesday reported net income of $50.8 million, or 57 cents per share, for 2009. That compares with $45.2 million, or 51 cents per share, for 2008.
Revenues for the year totaled $1.62 billion, compared with $1.79 billion in 2008.
The 2009 fourth quarter featured net income of $22.5 million, or 25 cents per share, on revenues of $448.3 million. That compares with 2008 fourth-quarter net income of $2.4 million, or 3 cents per share, on revenues of $410.1 million.
Wall Street's consensus expectations were for the company to have 55 cents per share of earnings for 2009, including 23 cents of EPS in the fourth quarter.
EnergySolutions offers a variety of services, including those relating to the disposal of nuclear waste.
EnergySolutions stock fell 25 cents Wednesday to close at $5.73. During the past year, the price has ranged from $5.22 to $10.80.
