Woman arrested following Salt Lake Radio Shack robbery

SALT LAKE CITY — A woman accused of robbing a Radio Shack at gunpoint was arrested Wednesday.

About 10:15 a.m., a woman walked into Radio Shack, 65 N. 900 West, threatened a worker with a gun and demanded money, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Snyder.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the woman left in a red vehicle, and employees called police. When emergency dispatchers broadcast to officers where the woman was last seen, one officer happened to be in the area, Snyder said.

That officer quickly spotted the vehicle, pulled the woman over, arrested her and recovered both the money and weapon, she said.

Lourdes Herrera, 42, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery. A man that was also detained at the scene was later released.
