Tickets for 'Lion King' go on sale Saturday

The mighty lion's roar will finally be heard in Salt Lake City when Disney's "The Lion King" arrives in August.

Tickets for the much-anticipated, Tony Award-winning spectacle, with music by Elton John and Tim Rice, go on sale Saturday, Feb. 27, 7 a.m., at the Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South.

Patrons will be allowed to line up at the theater beginning at midnight.

"We will have hot cocoa and 'Lion King' hats for the first 1,000 people," said Elisabeth Nebeker with NewSpace Entertainment. "We'll have prize wheels, Chick-fil-A will be there, Rhodes Bake-N-Serv … it's really going to be a lot of fun."

Ticket prices range from $37.50 to $145, with a limit of six. Premium ticket packages, which include prime seat locations, a commemorative souvenir program and exclusive merchandise items, are also available.

Phone and online ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. at 801-355-2787 or www.arttix.org.
