Salt Lake man charged with running over agents

SALT LAKE CITY — Two bounty hunters were run over by a getaway car driven by the brother of a man they were pursuing, prosecutors say.

The Nighthawk agents were observing a man wanted on an outstanding warrant who was with his brother in the parking lot of the Fresh Market, 898 E. 3300 South, on Feb. 7, according to charges filed in the 3rd District Court Thursday. The man's brother jumped into the driver's seat while the man the agents were looking for was in the backseat, and his brother drove forward, knocking one agent down, and then reversed, knocking the second agent to the ground, the charges state.

The brother, who has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, then drove off. He was arrested and booked into Salt Lake County Jail the next day.
