The number: 56%: Thumbs up for PDAs
Majority likes handheld devices
Handheld devices such as Blackberries and iPhones are seen as a good thing by most people, with a majority (56%) saying they have been a change for the better. However, a quarter (25%) says these devices have been a change for the worse over the last decade. The age gap in attitudes toward these devices is particularly wide: 72% of those under age 30 consider handheld wireless devices to be a positive change, compared with just 33% of those ages 65 and older.
