Class acts applauded

Though the press coverage of the recent BYU-Utah basketball game has frequently mentioned the unfortunate incident that resulted in the ejection of a player, I'd like to shine a spotlight on two positive incidents I witnessed at that game.

First, I noticed a young middle-age couple, obviously BYU fans, who applauded each Utah player as he was introduced.

Second, at the end of the warm-ups, the Utah players remained at the side of the court while the flag was presented and the national anthem was sung.

These two class acts demonstrated what college athletics should be about. I hope this kind of behavior will catch on with the majority of fans.
