Art project turns into missionary tool

LAS VEGAS — A stipple project for a drawing class became so much more than just a school assignment.Putting together small dots placed in painstaking precision, senior Joyce Tran created a beautiful image of the Salt Lake City Temple. "I chose to draw the temple because it's so beautiful and the contrast was good," Joyce said. The picture was displayed in the main office of Spring Valley High School next to other stipple projects, where it drew a lot of attention."I definitely did not do the temple justice, but I found it really awesome how it acted as a missionary tool," Joyce said. "I started out by using a picture I took of the temple at Christmas time and drew out a rough draft, and then I filled in with fine-point sharpie dots."The results spoke for themselves.
