OKLAHOMA CITY Florida coach Billy Donovan wasted few words in quick praise of BYU's Jimmer Fredette during Wednesday's press conference at the Ford Center, site of the NCAA West Regional.

Donovan said he saw a lot of "great" point guards in the SEC in John Wall and Devan Downey.? "I don't think either one of those two guys impact a college game like Fredette does.? He has a totally different affect level on a game," said the Gator coach.

Wall, of Kentucky, earned the SEC Player of the Year honors this season.? Devan Downey of South Carolina, led the SEC in scoring with a 22.5 average.? Wall finished fourth in scoring.

"As much as I have great, great respect and admiration for Wall and Downey, a lot of great point guards, those guys can't get 50 in a game.? They can't get to the fre throw line 24 times in a game.? Fredette is on of the best kept secrets in college basketball and as a coach and a basketball fan and someone that loves the game, to be able to watch im on film, was really, really great to watch."

The No. 7 seed Cougars play the No. 10 Gators Thursday at 12:20 p.m. (MST), here in the Ford Center.
