On Monday, March 22, Mormon Times hosted an online Twitter interview (twittologue) with Brandon Mull, author of the popular Fablehaven series. The interview, edited from the 'tweets' taken from Twitter.com, follows. Fablehaven really over?
BrandonMull: Book
5 is the final book. If I write something else using those places or
characters, it will be separate.

up with the movie?
BrandonMull: The
movie is still in development but it's coming along slowly (at least a few
years away)
DeseretBookCo: Who
is your favorite character?
BrandonMull: I
like bringing the magical creatures to life (centaurs, dragons, etc)

What is that dude on the cover of Fablehaven 5?
BrandonMull: the
dude on the cover of Fablehaven 5 is a mystery (curiosity makes us read)

Will Kendra have another love interest?
BrandonMull:
Kendra will have a new love interest in Book 5

Is Seth loosely based on your own childhood experiences? I once saw a photo of

BrandonMull:
I have some Seth in me; my brother has even more Seth in him (recklessly
curious - occasional knucklehead)
BrandonMull: The

Without giving too much away, where do Kendra and Seth travel to in book 5?
BrandonMull: Some
destinations include Australia, Finland, Turkey, British Columbia, and
more.....

BrandonMull: I
used to run a sketch comedy troupe which helps when I write dialog

How did you come up with blixes?
BrandonMull: Most
of the creatures in Fablehaven come from existing legends or mythology
BrandonMull: I
figured there would also be some creatures we'd never heard of
BrandonMull: I
made blixes vampiric but with different powers

Do we find out where the 5th secret preserve is?
BrandonMull: We
find out a lot about the 5th secret preserve

entertaining...what would you want people to take away from reading the books?
BrandonMull: I'd
like the Fablehaven books to take people on a really fun ride

hope people care about the characters and vicariously experience some difficult
choices

you happy with the way book 5 ended?

of my biggest reliefs as a writer so far, is that Book 5 turned out really well

Satyrs are fun because they're funny, demons are fun because they're evil,
centaurs are cocky etc.

write, I forget the pressure
