SALT LAKE CITY — Police were looking for three men who allegedly fired a BB or pellet gun at another vehicle Saturday night.

About 11:20 p.m., a vehicle was driving along 600 North near 900 West when another vehicle pulled up alongside and opened fire, a Salt Lake police report states. The vehicle suffered dents, but none of the shots penetrated the car, and no one was hurt.

In an effort to get away, the car being shot at attempted to speed off but ended up hitting another car, according to police. No one was injured.

The car from which the shots were reported to have come drove away. Anyone with information can call police at 801-799-3000.

Police on Monday were still investigating the incident but were doubtful that it was connected to a recent rash of BB gun shootings throughout the valley, mainly involving pedestrians being shot at.
