John Ross (Readers' Forum, May 14) assails the integrity of a previous writer (Neil Thomas, Readers' Forum, May 11) for feeling entitled to receive Social Security payments after contributing to Social Security for more than 40 years. It is Mr. Ross who lacks integrity for suggesting Mr. Thomas wants others to support him. All Mr. Thomas wants is for the U.S. government, which took his hard-earned money and that of his employer, to give some back in his senior years, as was promised. If the government spent Mr. Thomas' money along the way and left him with an IOU, it isn't Mr. Thomas' fault. He faithfully lived up to his end of the contract.
