Herbert Arnold Dewitz
1940 ~ 2010
Herbert Arnold Dewitz, June 26, 1940 - May 17, 2010. Herb passed away suddenly at his home in Holladay, Utah.Herb was born and raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School. He continued his education at the University of Utah graduating in 1962 with a degree in Banking and Finance. He started his financial career in New York City with Hogle and Company. He later moved to Pasadena, CA to work with Bank of America. Finally returning to Salt Lake where he worked with Walker Bank and later First Interstate until his retirement.
He was the oldest of three children born to the late Herbert and Marian Dewitz. He was the beloved husband of Shari Colwell Dewitz for over 40 years. They met and were married in July 1966, and were rarely apart from that time onward. Herb and Shari traveled all over the world, but found some of the most wonderful people in their own backyard at Willowcreek Country Club.
Herb will be forever remembered by his loving sons and daughters, Kurt and Alison Dewitz, Erik and Liz Dewitz, his treasured grandchildren Jayne, Zachary, Joseph, Quinn, and Chloe, his sisters Kay Norris and Mary Pearson-Hill, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Herb loved listening to music, restoring a beautiful '58 Chevy Impala, skiing, fishing, golfing (sometimes), and watching the Dallas Cowboys lose!
We are so grateful for all of the love and support of Herb's many friends and loved ones at this time.
Funeral services will be held at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple) on Friday, May 21 at 10:00 am. Reception from 9:00-10:00 am.
