Martin Cruz passed away peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Powell, Wyoming. Martin loved every minute of the 41 years he devoted to the Wheeler Machinery Company. He truly thought of them as family. He was enthusiastic about his work and he took great pride and joy showing off, talking about and sharing his love for his career. He was a true inspiration to all that knew him. He was a very caring and giving individual, and went out of his way to help everyone.
Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Victoria Cruz, his wife Neva Rae, and his son Martin Jr. He is survived by his sons Mark and Matthew, three sisters Tomasa, Rosalie, and Julia, two brothers, Peter and Timothy, as well as five grandchildren, David, Sunshine, Cristy, Danielle and Trevor, and four great-grandchildren, Joey, Steven, Alyssa and Destinee.
Special thanks to all of the caring people at the Wheeler Machinery company who cared for him over the years, as well as the people at the Salt Lake Regional Hospital ICU unit and his two primary caregivers, Pilar and Joyce.
Viewing will be at Redwood Memorial 6500 South Redwood Road Monday May 3, 2010 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Services will be held at the mortuary Tuesday May 4, 2010 at 2:00pm. Viewing will be available one hour prior to services.
