SAMARIA, Idaho — The Olive May Davis Osmond Cabin and Museum will be open for tours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday, May 29, and Monday, May 31.

The tours are free, but donations are appreciated.

The cabin is the birthplace of Olive Davis Osmond, the matriarch of the famous singing family. Seven of her sons gathered earlier this month to dedicate the two-room cabin, which has been restored with the help of resident Luke Waldron, a local high school teacher and history buff.

The book "The Untold Story of Olive Osmond" by Virl Osmond will be for sale at the cabin, and proceeds will go to helping rebuild the town's family pavilion that burnt down two years ago.

The cabin will also be open for tours during the Malad Welsh Festival on June 25 and 26, Samaria Days Celebration on July 24 and on Labor Day on Sept. 6.

Tours are also available via appointment by calling one of the tour guides: Jim Hill 208-766-2521, Sharon Atkinson 208-766-2624 or Doyle Waldron 208-766-4697.
