TRACK AND FIELD: Weber State's outdoor track and field teams each had solid outings this past weekend at the Idaho-Utah Border Clash in Boise, Idaho and at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, California.
At the Idaho-Utah Border Clash meet held at Boise State, the Wildcats captured two first place event and had several personal and season bests. Amber Henry (Fr.-Mountain View, Wyoming) won the 800 meters in a time of 2:10.44 and Ally Dean (Sr.-South Ogden, Utah) won the 400 meter hurdles in 1:00.35.
Camille Lott (Jr.-Kaysville, Utah) ran a career best of 56.39 in the 400 meters. Ashley Bartlett (Fr.-Grantsville, Utah) jumped career best 5-01.00 in the high jump and Aubrey Adams (So.-Mona, Utah) jumped a career bet 16-11.50 in the long jump.
At the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational at Stanford University, Laken Skidmore (So.-Terreton, Idaho) ran a season best 4;31.44 in the 1,500 meters while Sarah Callister (Fr.-Ogden, Utah) posted a time of 16:42.33 in the 5,000 meters.
On the men's side, Taylor Pebley (Sr.-West Haven, Utah) was a double winner for the Wildcats. He won the 400 meter dash in a career best time of 47.43. That is the seventh best time in WSU men's outdoor track and field history, he then came back and won the 400 meter hurdles in 52.51.
In the 200 meters, Brock Rose (Sr.-North Ogden, Utah) led the Wildcats in a one-two-three finish in a time of 21.89. Matt White (Fr.-Plain City, Utah) was second in 21.94 and Branden Shimada (Fr.-Portland, Oregon) was third in 22.31.
Jonevan DiSimone (Jr.-Salinas, California) won the 110 meter high hurdles in 14.57. Kyle Cockayne (Sr.-Dripping Springs, Texas) was second with a season best 15.28.
Eki Faagai (Sr.-Kanehoe, Hawai'i) won the discus with a toss of 173-04, winning the event by nearly 11 feet.
Jeremiah Johnson (So.-Magna, Utah) was second in the 800 meters running a season best 1:54.80.
At the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational, Steve Shepherd (Sr.-Eden, Utah) posted a time of 3:48.86, he is best time of the season without an altitude adjustment.
The Wildcats close out their regular season schedule this coming Wednesday, May 5 hosting the Wildcat Twilight Invitational at the Chick Hislop Track & Field Complex at Stewart Stadium beginning at 3:00 p.m.
