Wilmer (Kay) Robins, 89, died May 4, 2010, from causes incident to age.Born January 19, 1921, in Eden, Weber County, Utah, to Everett and Marba Ann Ferrin Robins. Kay was educated in the Ogden City Schools and graduated from Weber State College. He served honorably in the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he was part of the crews assigned to transport injured military to their home states. Kay retired from Geneva Steel Company after more than 30 years of service.
On June 16, 1958, Kay was united with his eternal companion, Eloise Jean Kohler Robins, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Provo, Utah, for 38 years before moving to Legacy Retirement and Assisted Living Centers in Salt Lake City. Kay and Eloise also had a home in Midway, Utah. Kay was a loving, devoted husband, and spent countless hours helping Eloise in humanitarian projects. He was a talented carpenter and maintained a well-equipped wood shop.
A faithful, lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kay spent his retirement years in Temple service.
Kay is survived by his wife, Eloise, and her surviving siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bill Robins, Bill's wife, Jeri; and nephew, Michael Robins.
The family expresses gratitude for the countless hours of care given to Kay by Haven Hospice, the loving employees of Legacy House, Carla Watts Christensen, a niece and other caring family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Midway Utah 1st Ward chapel (200 South 250 East). A viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Midway Cemetery. Condolences may be sent
