KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ground was scheduled to be broken Saturday for the second Mormon temple in Missouri.
The planned 32,000-square-foot facility probably will make the Kansas City area's 25,000 church members more visible, said Donald Deshler, a church leader from Overland Park.
The significance of the new temple's location — in Clay County — was apparent to church members when it was announced in 2008, Deshler said.
